Discovery & Classification

VERIFIED · REVIEW_WORKFLOW

Discovery surfaces AI-relevant files, folders and sensitivity signals locally, then places what needs attention into an administrator review flow.

“Discovery recommends. The admin decides. Nothing is applied automatically.”

What Discovery does

VALIDATED

Discovery review workflow

The Discovery & Classification module supports local scan and re-scan workflows, grouped results, categories and sensitivity signals, and administrator review states before policy effect.

Evidence is limited to the visible scan/review workflow. Discovery recommends only; it does not authorize access, create policy autonomously, remediate automatically, or apply enforcement without administrator validation.

Discovery & Classification is a visible product module for local scan and administrator review workflows.

It can surface AI-relevant files and folders, organize results by review state, and present categories or sensitivity signals that need attention.

  • local scan and re-scan workflow;
  • results grouped by review state;
  • categories and sensitivity signals;
  • items needing review or awaiting decision;
  • guided setup and Discovery settings;
  • administrator review before policy effect.

What Discovery does not do

Discovery is a decision-support layer. It does not authorize access or apply policy by itself.

The visible module does not establish autonomous authorization, autonomous policy creation, automatic remediation, automatic access grants, or universal enterprise-wide classification coverage.

  • a scan result is not an access grant;
  • a category is not a policy by itself;
  • a recommendation requires administrator validation;
  • policy effect remains a separate applied-control step.

Control loop

The public control sequence is:

DISCOVERY / SCAN → RECOMMENDATION → ADMIN DECISION → POLICY → ENFORCEMENT / EVIDENCE

These stages are deliberately separate. A scan can recommend, an administrator decides, and the product applies the resulting controlled state.

A management decision is not treated as proof that the endpoint or product has already applied the intended access state.

Review states and responsibility

Review states such as unchanged, removed, needs review, and awaiting decision help administrators understand what changed and what still requires attention.

The administrator remains responsible for accepting, rejecting, or deferring a recommendation before it affects policy.

Screenshot boundary

The founder-supplied screenshot used on the Product and Investors pages illustrates the visible scan and review workflow.

It is evidence of the bounded product surface shown; it does not prove universal classification coverage, autonomous authorization, or automatic enforcement.
